REINFORCING BEHAVIOR

It is not enough to communicate the changes you are trying to make.  The change happens when employees start behaving consistently with your strategy.  When that occurs, it should be acknowledged, rewarded and celebrated.

 

We facilitate workshops with business units or functions, using a “stop light tool” to identify what behaviors need to start, stop or change.  We work with your leaders to turn behavior commitments from the stop light workshops into KPIs.  This way, employees can expect to be held accountable for strategically consistent behavior and to have regular discussions with their managers about how they are contributing to change.

 

We will help you create a mechanism for recognition that can tie into exemplary behavior consistent with your intended changes.  Where awards and recognition programs already exist, we will help you repurpose them to fit the change agenda.  In this way, you will link desired behavior to organizational culture and corporate history, showing how the new strategy had its roots in long-established values.   This corporate story telling reinforces employees’ commitment to your new direction.
